Oh what a slacker I am

It's been a while since I have posted. I started the Couch to 5k program last week. Yesterday was Day 4, it was the first increase, it was good but it hurt. We (my husband and I) are going to register for a 5k run that is in October. Once the paperwork is in we have committed. It is a scary thought but I really want to do it.

Okay so I just read on muffin fixation that she is challenging herself to a specific target of weight loss my labor day. I think I will join her. I'd like to be at or below 170 lbs by then. I currently weight in at 188.8, so said the scale this morning. So, there it is, in writing. That was the easy part, now I have to DO it.

So, I have been MIA on the blog posting recently. I am such a slacker. I am not doing so well on the weight loss, I have not lost anything. :( But nor have I been keeping on myself to exercise at least every other day. The healthy eating hasn't been a problem, it helps being vegan. I have been conscious of keeping fruit or veggies around to munch on if I get hungry between meals. My wonderful husband brought me dark chocolate tonight, YUM! The 2 best things about 70% chocolate, it is vegan AND you can only eat 2 or 3 squares (small squares mind you) and you have to stop, it's so rich. nom nom nom nom, just melts in your mouth.
School work has me crazy, my finance class is going well, my communications class not as much. There is just gobs of readings to do and I am having troubles finding the time to read 5 chapters in one week. My other classes have been a max of 2 chapters a week, so 5 is a bit much. That said, not that I have finished a little school for the night, time to sit and do finances with the hubby since we didn't so it Saturday morning. Time to see if we have money, or the lack there of.

Wed & Thurs

Not so great for Wednesday and Thursday, no exercise. BUT, I am still eating well. I had some pineapple for breakfast both mornings, YUM! Went to Bruegger's Bagels for dinner this evening, had a garlic bagel with hummus and shared a bowl of roasted tomato soup with my hubby, UberYum! Probably ate a quarter of a large bag of baby carrots today, my tofu stir fry was good but it did not satisfy me. Not much else to blog about, I got my school work all done last night so I didn't have to worry about assignments today. :)

Days 2 & 3 of my new promise to myself

I ran out of time to post last night, but I was a good girl and I did work out. I did a quick 15 minute circuit in the morning after I drug myself out of bed, and I walked a total of 3 miles at work between my lunch and my breaks. Today I only walked a mile at work. I spent the rest of my time reading my school work. I will do the circuit again tomorrow. I will probably do best if I do the circuit every other day anyway.
I am exited for tonight! In about half an hour I will be starting my first group for knitting and crochet. I didn't have much time to announce it so I am not sure if anyone will show up. If not, I will do more school work or make a hat or 2. Either way it will be a good time. :)

New Start

I am going to start a new challenge and I hope that this time I stick with it and it works. Perhaps by blogging about it, it will help me to keep focused and active. I am tired of being lazy and not doing what is right for me. I know that I need to be more active and lose some pounds. I just can't seem to get with the program. I hope that this time I will.
My husband and I became Vegan as of 1-1-2010. For the most part it has been successful though hard to find places to go out to eat at. Cooking at home has been fun and adventurous.
Here is to great beginnings and sticking to it for a better life.
